Job Summary:

The MDM Lead will be responsible for leading the coordination and execution of our MDM strategy. The role requires a blend of deep technical MDM transformation experience and the ability to partner with the business in a cross-functional, matrixed organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAP and implementing enterprise-wide technical MDM projects within a broader data governance framework. The role will also be responsible for implementing and managing the future technical MDM solution in accordance with Messer's IS policies and procedures.

Principal Responsibilities:




  • Lead and coach in best practices for improving master data structures
  • Identify gaps in current state data structures, working with management to address through long-term strategic roadmap
  • Provide consult and thought leadership to larger organizational projects & initiatives where data is a central component of success
  • Guide and mentor data stewards on defining and maintaining governance, quality, compliance, and security for customer, vendor, and material master data
  • Lead coordination of MDM program strategy
  • Partner with management on vendor selection process for MDM application
  • Act as product owner of future MDM application
  • Manage 3rd party vendor relationships for MDM, data quality, validation services
  • Design enterprise MDM architecture solutions, including data models, user interfaces, workflows, and integrations
  • Oversee the MDM integrations and data migrations strategy
  • Develop architecture blueprints and detailed documentation that align to business objectives and meet Messer standards on compliance, security, and performance
  • Develop and document the enterprise solution architecture for master data applications, with included integration points



Required Skills:



  • Must understand complex technical intricacies and how to solve with applicable solutions
  • Experience implementing and enforcing master data governance policies & procedures
  • Sufficient hands-on experience in at least 3 of the following areas - reference data management, metadata management, data quality, data standardization, data security
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile principles and methodology
  • Successfully managed a large MDM program and application implementation within the construct of a broader Master Data Governance program
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-driven and motivated with the ability to manage time and work effectively
  • High level of comfort in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Ability to drive solutions to complex problems in an environment with many intricate business factors
  • Team player who works well with others
  • Willingness to take the lead



Basic Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5-7 years work experience in MDM, data governance, data architecture, with at least 3-5 in a lead role in an enterprise environment
  • 5+ years experience in data integrations and data modeling in an MDM capacity
  • Proven experience in data and solutions architecture, preferably within a manufacturing environment



Preferred Requirements:



  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification a plus
  • Ideal candidate would have experience implementing and architecting leading MDM solutions such as Informatica, Profisee, SAP MDG, Reltio, Tibco, etc.
  • Experience in SAP and Salesforce (SFDC) a plus
  • Experience in SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud a plus
