Job Title: Accounting Supervisor

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to lead our accounting team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. In this role, you will oversee key accounting operations, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong analytical skills, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and mentor a team of two, overseeing daily accounting operations and the monthly close process.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Take direct ownership of the Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting process, ensuring accurate revenue recognition.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing, including oversight of annual physical inventory coordination.
  • Support the seamless integration of acquisitions into the company's ERP system.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies, maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Prepare documentation and reports to support both internal and external audits.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Proactively seek value-add opportunities and drive positive change to support the company's long-term growth.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to maintain strong financial controls and reporting integrity.



Qualifications & Skills:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, showing advancement in an organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities to manage and motivate a team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred:



  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification is a plus.
  • 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
