What does a Senior Product Manager for Developer Experience do?

You will lead the strategy and execution of initiatives designed to enhance the experience of our developer customers. This role combines technical knowledge with a customer-centric mindset to ensure that developers can easily integrate, optimize, and innovate using our platform or products. You advocate for the voice of the customer within the organization and collaborate with engineering, customer experience and support teams to continuously improve the end-to-end experience for our developer customers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive Customer Developer Experience strategy that enhances the usability, performance, and value that developer customers derive from our products.
  • Customer Engagement & Advocacy: Act as the voice of the developer customer within the company, gathering external developer feedback, understanding their pain points, and advocating for improvements to the product and support processes.
  • Internal Communities: Engage with internal teams to gather feedback, share best practices, and continuously improve the developer experience.
  • Onboarding & Education: Optimize the onboarding journey for new developer customers, ensuring they quickly understand how to integrate and utilize our platform effectively. Build educational content tailored to the needs of developers.
  • Innovation & Trends: Stay on top of emerging trends and technologies in developer tools, platforms, and methodologies to ensure Travelport is aligned.
  • Support of Telemetry and Analytics: This includes operational dashboards for analyzing the performance of the API's in terms of usage, speed, and reliability, in addition to the usefulness of the API's through establishing frameworks to ensure we are able to capture the flow of value through the API's.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Observe and recommend improvements to the API design. Work with other API Product Managers to execute those recommendations with minimal customer impact.

Who we are looking for in this role:

  • Hands on knowledge of past and current API technologies, platforms, frameworks, and schemas.
  • Technical proficiency to optimally partner with engineering in the build-out of services, including those with highly translational/high-performance non-functional requirements.
  • 5+ years' product management experience with transactional API's for platform businesses
  • Experience using data and analytics to drive decisions.
  • Demonstrable ability to contribute to and influence decision making across multiple functional teams

Our ambition is to hire for potential not just experience, and you're likely to succeed if you:

  • Are always ready to give it your all and deliver high quality work
  • Are excited to use your creativity and innovative thinking to try new things
  • Take responsibility and own your work
  • Are courageous and ambitious to challenge what's been done before
