Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a Pricing Director with the critical responsibility of advancing the Company's profitable growth working closely with the executive and operational team. The Pricing Director will be expected to provide confident conclusions regarding pricing and will effectively convey these conclusions in a professional and positive manner. This role will be an integral part of the Company's management team and strategic direction objectives. It is expected that the Pricing Director will embrace teamwork, accountability and strong organizational skills while also maintaining a high-level strategic view consistent with Company objectives and competitive trends.

Duties and Responsibilities

    Prepare pricing models for new and existing business opportunities
  • Develop competitive cost basis models from client RFP documents to win profitable business
  • Work closely with cross functional teams (Business Development, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Maintenance, Information Technology, Risk and Safety) to develop overall strategy for pricing and cost assumptions
  • Develop and enhance pricing analysis to provide recommendations to the bid team
  • Coordinate, manage and lead customer pricing review with proactive solutions and recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills to present solution to senior leadership for review and approval and clients when responding to inquiries
  • Execute proper controls over pricing activities ensuring that the Company's best interest in profitable business transactions is met
  • Involvement in other ad hoc projects as needed

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Reviewing profit and loss statements for existing business to locate areas of opportunity when an Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued for the business
  • Work with team to review data and prepare reports in support of the assumptions used in the bid model
  • Maintain competitive and aggressive price position within defined guidelines through performance tracking, root-cause definition, financial impact analysis, and defining necessary changes
  • Collaborate closely with various functions across the organization to achieve Company goals
  • Coordinate the execution of bid model reviews
  • Respond to customer (external and internal) requests/issues related to pricing.
  • Travel required: 5%


Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • B.A or B.S. Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Five (5) + years Finance or Accounting experience preferred.
  • Two (2) + years relevant pricing experience preferably in transportation or automotive industry.
  • Two (2) + years managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Experience developing financial/budget models and the ability to succinctly and clearly communicate recommendations.
  • Analytically driven problem solver with the ability to identify multiple solutions and evaluate all associated risks.
  • Known as a thought leader with effective influencing skills.
  • Ability to read through client provided documents and identify cost items.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to shift priorities with changing due dates and deliverables
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools with high level of knowledge in Excel including formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, etc.
