The Public Health Program Coordinator will work with two Public Health Educators in the Community Health Unit to develop, implement, coordinate, manage, and evaluate interventions to support substance misuse prevention efforts across all of St. Louis County. May serve as a health consultant on various interdisciplinary teams and represent the division at community meetings and is responsible for staying current with best practices in substance misuse prevention programming, trends, and data. Participates in the local public health assessment and improvement planning processes related to substance misuse prevention and supports and guides the efforts of the Public Health Educators. Based on funding opportunities, this position may prepare and manage grants, budgets, and contracts. This position is part of the Public Health Division Management Team and may assist with determining staff development needs, assigning work, and evaluating staff performance, as needed, and aligning programming with division and community needs. The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2025. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $34.70 - $49.45 per hour. This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME. St. Louis County does not participate in E-Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis. St. Louis County does not provide sponsorship for employment visas. An employee in this class is responsible for administering public health programs, grants and contracts. Duties include managing health intervention programs; evaluating program outcomes and implementing improvements; participating in the local public health assessment and planning process; assisting with the development and evaluation of staff core competencies. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff. These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled.
