Process Engineer 1

As a Process Engineer at Lam, you will operate on cutting-edge technology, harnessing atomic precision, material science, and surface engineering to push technical boundaries. Your role involves developing new and advanced process formulations, defining equipment hardware to meet processing requirements, evaluating test data, and coordinating design requirements to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Your expertise and knowledge play a crucial role our customers success, making an impact on the next generation of semiconductor breakthroughs.

Job Responsibilities

• Provides metrology support for process groups research and development activities as a junior metrology application engineer.
• Operate semiconductor metrology tools, performs recipe creation, development within minimal direct supervision.
• Manage metrology requests from an online job queue.
• Comprehending accuracy of results implications of abnormal results.
• Deliver metrology results with a focus on maintaining data integrity.
• Document and provide basic operational training to users of metrology tools.

Other Job Responsibilities

• Run SPC test and track tool performance of metrology assets.
• Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
• Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
• Participate in semi-complex projects which require judgment and initiative and complete tasks in effective ways and make recommendations for better solutions.
• Interface with vendor Field Service Engineer to provide support and troubleshooting ensuring timely solutions and minimal downtime.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must meetoneof the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scienceor related areas
  • Associate's degree with 3+ years relevant experience in optical profilometer
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in semiconductor industry
• Ability to work in a clean room environment (bunny suit, safety glasses, masks, gloves)
• Flexibility to provide coverage for weekends, swing shift, or compressed work schedule
• Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities
• Excellent oral and written communication

• Master's degree in optics, physic, and material science.
• Prior experience of optical triangulation measurement tool, White light interferometry, laser focal microscope, and bright/dark field defect inspection.
• Strong team player and creative problem solver.
• Driven, highly organized, strong attention to detail.
• Programing/scripting experience.
• Capability to deal with fast paced, customer service-oriented mindset.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week.
