Technical Specialist IIIin GAC Savannah Unique Skills: DUTIES: Investigate problems, analyze test results, and generate solutions for basic problems associated with the research, design, development, and manufacturing of Gulfstream products by performing stability and control and flight dynamics analysis. Conduct time history based simulation analysis to determine a failure mode's hazard classification. Host, reduce data, and report conclusions from pilots in loop simulations. Associate engineering analysis as requirement verification artifacts for ARP4754 compliance. Work on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required. Thirteen years of experience required in aerospace industry research and development, including any experience with flight control laws. Five years of experience required with: developing requirements to ensure airplanes are maneuverable, have good handling qualities, and are controllable both in normal operations and in the presence of failures; using static and time history based analysis to ensure design requirements are being met; conducting, analyzing, and documenting the results of pilots in loop laboratory simulation evaluations; planning, supporting, and reducing data from aircraft flight testing; and conducting Functional Hazard Assessment certification testing. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and thirteen years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and eleven years of experience or a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and nine years of experience. Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
