Senior Java Advisor (Hybrid)

Our practice is seeking a highly qualified Senior Java Advisor with experience in developing and building impactful, scalable, enterprise applications.

Our Developers have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until Feb 28th, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between 70,000 - 82,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.

• Design and code high-quality deliverables adhering to defined standards and design principles.
• Create unit tests and ensure code coverage meets the agreed standards.
• Assume responsibility for the quality and timeliness of the team's deliverables.
• Provide hands-on expertise in AWS and Core Java.
• Develop Java and database solutions by studying existing technology architecture, analyzing browser compatibility techniques, evaluating solution alternatives, developing prototypes, and writing detailed technical requirements.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of technology and instill the principles of this culture in the team.
• Ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet deadlines.
• Provide detailed and timely status updates to management.
• Help establish and enhance development policies, procedures, and standards and enforce their implementation upon the team of developers.
• Maintain technical knowledge and understanding of the latest development methodologies and best practices by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Ensure quality and consistency throughout the architecture and implementation of the code base.
• Act as a highly competent advisor to managers, leads, and the team.

• Proven experience 7 to 12 years as Java Developer
• Hands-on experience in AWS, with knowledge in migration-related projects.
• Solid understanding in Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in API & Log integrations and customization.
• Strong knowledge of proactive monitoring and predictive analysis, defining key performance indicators and metrics across business, system, and operations.

• Experience with Kafka and Jira.
