Responsible for the materials function including the procurement activities at the USAntibiotics manufacturing facility along with non-inventory items. This position will assist planning in establishing raw material requirements utilizing supplied forecast and generate purchase orders through SAP for all raw material/component inventory material requirements. These procurement activities must maintain adequate levels of inventory materials to support the required level of production activity while providing for adequate lead times and safety stock levels. This position will also be responsible for procurement of non-inventory requirements.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate quotation process and negotiate with suppliers for best pricing.
  • Analyze raw materials and packaging materials needs utilizing SAP MRP.
  • Responsible for SAP Purchase Order creation and transmittal to suppliers.
  • Work with supplier agreements to verify the details of the agreement to include product or service details, pricing, delivery schedule, quality standards, payment terms.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure that the plan to production inventory is in place in a timely manner based on the estimation/forecast of the volume of units to be sold within a specified time.
  • Ensure inventory materials are received on time, accurate quantity and at the acknowledged price.
  • Maintenance for Procurement Data Objects.
  • Build and develop effective relationships with suppliers- serve as primary site contact for material suppliers.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with warehouse personnel.
  • Ability to learn non-inventory needs and negotiate best pricing with suppliers while maintaining appropriate non-inventory levels.
  • Ability to work with suppliers on out of spec materials and resolve any issues.
  • Ability to quickly pivot to meet changing forecasts and sales requirements a fast-paced environment ensuring the raw material, packaging components and finish products demands are met.
  • Provide Corporate Auditing supplier information as requested.
  • Perform SAP data work with Finance and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies as needed.
  • Complete Material Disposition Forms for discrepant/expired materials.
  • Raise change controls needed as a result of supplier change notifications.
  • Work with other departments to determine needs.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or equivalent education/work experience preferred.
  • Three years' experience in the field of purchasing.
  • Mastery of purchasing for production, typical ERP, MRP, (i.e., SAP or similar manufacturing software).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to understand documents including Bill of Materials (BOMs), Change Orders, and procedures.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project,Teams).
  • Understanding of MRP Master Data objects(Material Master, Procurement Data, MRP Data) and how they interact.
  • Understanding of with material specifications, COA's, COC's and ability to analyze material requirements using SAP, reports, and forecasting tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate material requirements to both domestic and international suppliers.
  • Able to read and understand supplier order confirmations.
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make accurate decisions and maintain flexibility while under pressure to address changing production requirements while maintaining professionalism.
  • Excellent documentation skills required.
  • Knowledge of FDA, Customs material documentation requirements.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret written procedures.
  • Understanding of cGMP working environment.
  • Ability to work well with executive management and frontline associates to embrace challenges and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to serve both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed and travel to support the overall company objectives and goals of the site.
