In your role as a Locomotive Technician, you will:

  Be required to provide expertise in trouble shooting electrical & mechanical issues with locomotives.

  
  
• 
  

  Work with, evaluate and participate with the training necessary to develop the workforce to be a safe/efficient & skilled team.

  
  
• 
  

  Provide the necessary coaching, mentoring and hands on training of all employees assigned.

  
  
• 
  

  Identifies problematic systems/parts to ascertain performance failures using diagnostic and faultfinding techniques.

  
  

• 
  

  Interfaces with client technical staff to identify technical reliability solutions.

  
  
• 
  

  Continually proposes improvement to equipment, practices and maintenance programs.

  
  
• 
  

  Provides guidance, support and training to staff on the execution of the maintenance program.

  
  
• 
  

  Interfaces with client technical and facility staff on technical subject

  
  
• 
  

  Support the training group with formal hands-on technical training.

  
  
• 
  

  Support the Quality Assurance of the product with technical and compliance audits.

  
  
• 
  

  Investigates identified problematic systems / parts to ascertain cause of performance failure. To diagnose diagnostic software to enable the root cause to be identified

  
  
• 
  

  Assists in the development of modifications and equipment testing.

  
  
• 
  

  Proposes improvement to equipment, practices and maintenance program.

  
  

Qualifications

Required

• 
  

  Must have a proven track record with Locomotive repair or building with regards to electrical systems and diesel mechanics.
