JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

We are searching for a Systems Administrator to join our Computing Services Department at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University. ARL's purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC).

ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.

You will:

  • Provide ongoing support for all Navigation R&D Center, Warminster, PA (NRDC) IT Infrastructure including security

  • Install and manage hardware, operating systems, and applications with the objective of providing robust and stable IT operating platforms

  • Maintain and update IT security in accordance with latest policies

  • Update equipment and software in compliance with ARL policies and NRDC scientific and engineering need

  • Respond to NRDC staff IT requests for support; maintain coordination/liaison with the Computing & Network Division (CSD)

  • Configure computers for classified use; maintain compliance of classified system by applying patches, updates, and updated security settings to servers and clients

  • Install software for classified users as well as provide general support them

Minimally requires a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required skills/experience areas include:

  • Active Top Secret government security clearance

  • Systems administrator experience within classified computing environments

Preferred skills/experience areas include:

  • Systems Administrator experience working in governmental research environments

  • Hardware and Software compliance and configuration in classified computing environments

  • Customer support experience in unclassified and classified computing environments

Your working location will be fully on-site, located in Warminster, PA. This position will require periodic travel to other locations .

**The proposed salary range may be impacted by geographic differential.**

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00
