JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Behrend is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinic Manager to lead our on campus Health and Wellness Center team, an organization responsible for the seamless operation of our patient care services. This critical role will engage in administrative and management responsibilities while actively supporting patient care and clinical operations. As a key member of the Behrend organization, the Clinic Manager will oversee electronic health record systems, supervise primary and advanced care practitioners, and participate in committee work as necessary.

Representative Duties:

  • Patient Care: Perform necessary patient care, including taking comprehensive histories and conducting physical exams on patients.
  • Communication: Establish effective communication with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assessment & Planning: Develop and implement detailed assessments and care plans for patients based on informed medical decisions.
  • Intervention Decisions: Make informed decisions on diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, including medical and surgical procedures as necessary.
  • Management Plans: Design and execute management plans while providing counseling and educational resources to patients and families.
  • Health Education: Provide healthcare services aimed at preventing illness or maintaining optimal health, with an emphasis on patient education.
  • Funding & Payment Awareness: Understand and navigate the variety of funding sources and payment systems available for patient care.
  • Leadership: Take on a leadership role as a member of the Clinical Leadership Team and provide support for the Advanced Care Practitioners.
  • Clinical Informatics: Chair the Clinical Informatics Workgroup, manage electronic health record systems, and ensure proper use, maintenance, updates, and training for optimal product functionality.
  • Supervision & Support: Lead, support, and advocate for the Advanced Care Practitioners while fostering a collaborative environment.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant healthcare experience, 3 of which need to be in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires the following clearances:

  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
  • Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check

The successful individual will participate in support of residence life on-call rotation. This is an 91.7% full-time equivalency (FTE) job with the month of July off. Full Penn State benefits included.

$86,300.00 - $129,500.00
