Reporting to the Senior Manager of Provider Network Relations, the Provider Network Development Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Provider Network Development Department. The Manager will develop a cohesive, fully engaged team that has a firm understanding of their role in helping the organization achieve its mission and strategic goals. Manages and maintains provider network growth and costs.

We are looking for an extremely motivated individual who will approach this role with a high level of creativity and collaboration. A solid contracting background, effective management skills, and a positive attitude are essential. The ability to manage by influence in a matrixed environment; operate with transparency and execute the vision of the business unit. The ideal candidate will be analytical, have a strong sense of process-based efficiency and excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Job Summary:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing the provider network, yielding a geographically and cost-competitive, high quality, stable network, that meets and exceeds the needs of current and future customers.
  • Ensures adequate, high-quality network coverage. Detects network gaps and/or shortfalls and coordinates recruitment campaigns.
  • Direct and oversees the negotiations of network provider service agreements and single case agreements.
  • Ensures that communication with network facilities and/or providers, is maintained, to encourage participation in the Acuity provider network.
  • Responsible for the timely identification and resolution of provider network gaps, ensuring follow up plans and interventions are timely and responsive, and supports positive partnerships with Acuity clients and network facilities.
  • Responsible for provider network campaign management, coverage and cost analysis reporting, and department weekly reporting. This includes oversight and monitoring of team and individual performance to ensure KPIs are achieved.
  • Responsible for analysis and explanation of contractual guidelines and policies to ensure providers are properly educated on company and client procedures.
  • Develops and maintains department operational workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree required, preferably in business or healthcare administration.
  • 5+ years' leadership experience required, preferably in business or healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated skills in team management, project management, clinic recruitment / contract negotiation / provider relations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with high level focus on detail and quality.
  • Must be discreet and sensitive to protecting company proprietary and competition sensitive information in verbal or written form.
  • Must be self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Travel may be required.
  • May participate in interdepartmental project groups or task forces to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain a specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, contract awards, and new policy requirements.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner.

  • Encourages co-workers to work safely.
  • Identifies "close calls" and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Assists in the active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, AAAHC, and other mandated regulations/standards.
  • May serve on the OSHA VPP, Safety, and Wellness Committees.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or Health Care Administration or related field.
  • 3+ years provider relations and/or provider network/contracting experience.
  • 7+ years progressive administrative/management experience in business or healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
