Job Type: Full-Time, Shift: Tuesday-Saturday 5AM-1:30PM

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Parasitology Laboratory Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations by preparing samples, conducting tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment. This role is crucial in assisting with research and diagnostic activities related to parasitic diseases.

Key Responsibilities (Included but not limited to):

  • Prepare and process biological samples for parasitological examination.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.
  • Record and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new testing protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and order new materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff and researchers on various projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations based on laboratory findings.

Knowledge, Qualifications, & Compensation:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Laboratory Experience in Parasitology/Microbiology is preferred but not required.
  • Team Oriented.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
  • Preferred experience in molecular techniques such as ELISA.

Physical and Time Requirements:

  • Able to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Flexible hours and overtime may be required
  • SHIFT TIMES: Must be available for evenings as needed and rotating weekends
