PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR-Machine Filling

Green Garden Products, a subsidiary of Central Garden & Pet, the number one supplier of top-quality flower seeds and non-GMO vegetable seeds for the gardening industry, is now seeking a Production Supervisor in the Machine filling area for the Norton, MA facility. This is an exempt, full-time position. The pay for this position ranges from $45,000 - $65,000 depending upon experience. The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the production activities for operations. This position requires a hands-on ability to manage workflow. This is a working supervisor position and as such will be expected to fill in and help out as needed in all areas. This position includes managing line leads, operators and approximately 30 temporary employees in Norton MA.

Key DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure a safe and productive working environment and that all safety procedures are followed

Manage and supervise the Machine Filling area employees and process and ensure it is operating as efficiently as possible, minimizing downtime

Assist with the maintenance of machinery to support employees and production

Ensure inventory transactions are completed timely and accurately

Take responsibility for production planning, output, standard costs and quality

Report, track and achieve standard costs for all machines

Oversee all paperwork flow and ensure thoroughness

Manage machine area to company standards; optimizing daily expectations

Provide direction, guidance, training and assistance to employees

Identify process improvement opportunities

Perform other related duties as assigned by Management to support operations

Job Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required

2-3 years' supervisory experience in production or manufacturing environment

Demonstrated safety leadership, integrity and ethics

Strong knowledge of multiple machine operations

Ability to be decisive and take initiative

Ability and experience operating fork trucks, pallet jacks and/or hand trucks

Mechanical aptitude required

Strong computer, communication and interpersonal skills to lead a group

Attention to detail with good problem-solving skills

Dependable and adaptable to changes of priorities in the work environment

Results oriented and demonstrated ability to consistently complete tasks on time

Ability to communicate respectfully and efficiently across all levels of the organization

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Bilingual preferred
