We have an exciting opportunity in our Central Specialty Pet business unit for a Human Resource Manager at our Franklin, WI site.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES:
  • Manage site activities including staffing, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and training.
  • Manage recruiting and selection activities for the location. Develop position descriptions, job requisitions, postings, and offer letters, as well as coordinating onboarding for all positions.
  • Provide leadership in employee relations, resolve conflicts, foster open communication and a positive work environment.
  • Create a culture of respect by building strong relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Partner with supervisory personnel to enhance their coaching and employee development skills; ensure fair and equitable employee treatment relating to disciplinary actions.
  • Assist in managing workers' compensation claims and related issues to ensure timely progression and the best possible outcome for both the injured worker and the company.
  • Create, maintain, support employee engagement programs including company events, employee participation, and programs to recognize and reward employees.
  • Work with temporary staffing agencies and serve as the liaison between the agency and management to ensure positions are filled efficiently and effectively.
  • Facilitate training modules to enhance the skill level of the workforce and ensure compliance.
  • Manage site HR metrics, such as turnover rates, absenteeism, and retention. Use data to identify trends and make informed decisions to improve HR processes and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with employees and managers to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities, effective performance appraisals, and career development.
  • Ensure policies and processes are applied fairly and consistently.
  • Ensure compliance with various governmental laws and regulations, including OSHA, DOT, EEOC, Safety and Health, Environmental, Employment and Hours, Sarbanes-Oxley, Staffing, Workers' Compensation, and Harassment.
  • Represent the company in unemployment matters, including responding to correspondence and attending hearings as needed.
  • Maintain Site Security program, responsible for security badge issuance and maintenance.
  • Projects and initiatives as needed by HR and business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR generalist experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, drive, and ability to effectively resolve issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills: HRIS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks from multiple sources and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of State and Federal employment laws.
  • Bi-lingual is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • The role is primarily based in an office environment, with frequent meetings and support required in manufacturing and/or warehouse settings. Must be able to be present in all areas as needed.
  • This is a salaried-exempt position; hours will generally be regular business hours and may require hours outside of regular business hours. There may be some variation in work hours due to training schedules, overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns.
