Job Summary: Supports the business development department while enrolled in a business degree program or equivalent degree. The Business Development Intern is responsible for supporting capture managers and business development managerial staff with tasks related to the promotion, marketing, and sales. The Business Development Intern duties shall include the monitoring of discretionary budgets, the creation of marketing material, and maintaining competitive intelligence databases. This position typically works under close supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists staff with market research, proposal preparation, pricing, PowerPoint presentation development and related assigned work.
  • Assists with business analysis and forecasting.
  • Develop general marketing and sales material using inputs from managerial staff and engineering leads. Material includes presentations, product data sheets, graphics, and white papers.
  • Aggregate capture manager and managerial staff bookings forecast estimates into consolidated Sales Force reports.
  • Develop weekly reports to communicate and track selling expense (SE) and bid and proposal (B&P) burn-rates, actuals, estimates to completion (ETC), and forecasts.
  • Update and manage product line SharePoint sites and OneNote Notebooks.
  • Coordinate and finalize inputs for monthly and quarterly business reviews.
  • Monitor open-source government databases and media to evaluate and qualify new business opportunities.
  • Compile comprehensive research on potential partners, and competitors in order to allow management to make informed bid no bid decisions.
  • Performs miscellaneous assignments as needed.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Enrolled in a four year college degree program. Background in business management, economics and liberal arts. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, well-organized, and have good writing skills.

Cubic Pay Range:

$20 - $28/hr. + benefits.
