JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill one postdoctoral position under the direction of Dr. Jun Zhu. The postdoc will work on exploring the fundamental properties of graphene and Van Der Waals heterostructures. Topics include the fractional quantum Hall effect, the quantum valley Hall effect, the superconducting proximity effect of materials of non-trivial topology and magnetism in 2D materials.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in Physics, and a history of Ph.D. level research experience in experimental condensed matter physics. Successful candidates are expected to have expertise in nanoscale device fabrication and sensitive electrical transport measurements at low temperatures. Past research experiences in any of our current research directions are pluses. The postdoc will be encouraged to enhance his/her research credentials through publications, and to guide graduate and undergraduate students.
