JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University Abington College invites applications for a full-time, non tenure- line Lecturer (Master's) or Assistant Teaching Professor (Ph.D.) in Finance to begin August 2025. This is a 36-week limited-term (single year) academic appointment, funded for one year from the date of hire with a strong possibility of appointment renewal for subsequent periods. The successful candidate is expected to be able to teach a range of courses in Finance, including Introduction to Corporate Finance, and upper division courses including Investment Valuation, Derivatives, Real Estate Finance and Multinational Finance.The teaching load is 4 courses each semester and on-campus teaching and office hours are essential functions of the position. The faculty member will have advising responsibilities and be expected to contribute to the college community through service activities. Opportunities for professional development and promotion are available and will be supported.

A commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching and mentoring is also essential. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching diverse student populations and demonstrate interest in facilitating student mentoring, advising, and career development. The teaching load is 4-4 with most courses being offered in-person at Abington and with the possibility of some courses offered online across multiple campuses.The incumbent will have student advising responsibilities and will be expected to contribute to the college community through service to the college, division, university profession and community. Candidates are expected to engage in professional growth during their time at Abington. Opportunities for professional development and later promotion are available and will be supported.

Candidates must have either an earned doctorate or master's degree in finance (FIN) or closely related field by August 1, 2025. Title for this position is determined by the educational level of the finalist at the time of appointment. Candidates with a master's degree will be appointed as Lecturer. Candidates with a doctorate from regionally accredited institution will be appointed as Assistant Teaching Professor.
