Description Maine Medical CenterManagement/Leadership Maine Medical Centeris the state's largest medical center, licensed for 929 beds and employing more than 9,600 people. Maine Medical Center's unique role as both a community hospital and a referral center require an unparalleled depth and breadth of services. P3CD is a high paced 29-bed Medical Surgical unit that provides exceptional care for general medical surgical adult patients before and after surgical procedures. Common diagnostic categories include multiple medical diagnoses, but are not limited to pulmonary/respiratory illness, Diabetes, Infectious diseases, GI/digestive disorders, and cellulitis. P3CD's clinical nursing team includes bright, innovative professionals looking to hold themselves and others to the highest nursing and care standards. A nurse in this role works closely with a collaborative, inter-professional care team which includes, RNs at every stage of their career, offering different levels of experience and guidance. Our nurses, patient care technicians, and CNAs exemplify analytic ability to identify patient needs, risks, and interventions. We provide excellent customer service to patients and families at their current health states and learning abilities. As a team, we continually demonstrate exceptional communication abilities, always effectively interacting and problem-solving with other healthcare professionals, hospital administration, patients and families. Summary: The Nurse Manager in collaboration with the Nursing Director is the vital link between the mission and vision of Maine Medical Center and the delivery of safe patient and family centered care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and provides highest quality care. Reporting through the Nursing Director, this role requires collaboration with staff, physicians, directors, other professional colleagues and occasionally senior administration, to meet the diverse and continually changing challenges of the health care environment. The Nurse Manager must be a creative, autonomous, future-oriented, risk-taking entrepreneur who applies nursing expertise, critical thinking, and effective leadership and management skills to ensure that quality care is provided through satisfied and inspired professionals on a daily basis.
