Position Summary:

The IT Support Intern will assist users with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues across various platforms and devices. The role involves direct interaction with end users, assisting with IT support tasks, and helping ensure smooth IT operations for the business.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The IT Support Intern will provide prompt and accurate support and feedback to users, with a proper recording of problem resolution steps in the company's support platforms.

This role will provide support and answer questions from users for general IT infrastructure and supported platforms.

Additionally, they will participate in the support of business applications, including in-house built (Knowledge Mine, labeling programs) and other business tools, serving as a liaison between users and the applications support and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical



  • Assistance with setup and troubleshooting for computer hardware, software, and applications.
  • Configure and install operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices (e.g., printers, mobile devices).
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues via support platforms, email, phone, or in person.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnose and solve hardware or software faults in collaboration with other IT department members.
  • Set up new users' accounts, profiles, and deal with any issues related to their profiles, Windows environment, and supported applications (e.g., Terminal Server, email, ERP).


Performance & Quality



  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all aspects of IT support.
  • Build effective relationships with users and IT teams to facilitate smooth communication and support.


Collaboration & Communication



  • Act as a liaison between end-users and development teams, ensuring user issues are properly communicated and resolved.
  • Ensure proper documentation of problem resolution steps within company support platforms.



Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, etc.



  • High School Diploma or GED required. Working towards an Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Collaboration & Communication
  • An understanding of Active Directory and basic Windows security.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools.
  • Able to manage sensitive and confidential information.


Physical Demands:



  • Regularly involves sitting or standing, occasional walking, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds, and visual adjustments.


Work Environment:



  • Includes office and manufacturing environments, requiring personal protective equipment in certain areas and exposure to loud noise.
