At IBVI, we are passionate about our mission to create and grow employment opportunities for the blind and visually impaired. We are seeking a self-starting, business-minded, detail-oriented individual looking to grow in a new position. If you have a background in product development, project management, customer service, sales, or related fields, we encourage you to apply.

A Day in the Life of a Project Specialist:

Imagine starting your day with a lively team meeting, where you sync up with Sourcing, Engineering, and Customer Service to discuss project updates and tackle any challenges. You then dive into assisting with management of the development of AbilityOne products, ensuring each stage from concept to launch is meticulously planned. Mid-morning, you collaborate with Marketing and Finance to strategize product launches for federal channels. After lunch, you meet with Quality and Production teams to conduct thorough quality checks and address any issues. The afternoon is spent updating project timelines, troubleshooting roadblocks, and preparing detailed reports for your supervisor and senior management. By the end of the day, you've interacted with various departments, driving the successful development and launch of products that make a difference.

Key Responsibilities: As a Project Specialist, you will:

  • Support product development and management activities, including creating business cases, product roadmaps, and required documentation.
  • Assist in product and project management for all AbilityOne products and programs.
  • Coordinate assignments within the Product Development - Project Management Stage Gate Process.
  • Support project management activities for the IBVI Business Development Pipeline process.

We offer an excellent benefits package, including:

  • 403B retirement savings plan with company match.
  • Health/vision/dental insurance.
  • Paid time off, including vacation, paid holidays, and sick time.
  • Gym membership reimbursement.
  • An emphasis on upward mobility.
  • Fantastic and supportive coworkers.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or 3 years of equivalent work experience in product development, sales, and/or customer service.
  • At least 1 year of experience in product development, sales, and/or customer service.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
