SUMMARY:

This position is a full time Exempt (salary) position, supporting the ARNG Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). The Higher Command Support Team Intelligence SME will coach, train, and mentor ARNG Division and Brigade Commanders and Staffs in the philosophy of Mission Command, and the art and science of Intelligence doctrinal foundations within Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE) context. May support work originating from any/all the MTC locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



  • Replicate the Intelligence Warfighting Function (WFF) and serve as the Higher Command (HICOM) G2 staff principle during the MDMP, STAFFEXs, and FTX or CPXs as well as the intervening periods between events while working with other senior WFF subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Support pre-exercise (CPX/FTX) staff exercises (STAFFEX) and academic/instructional opportunities assisting in training Commanders and Staff in Operational Design, the Operations Process, Multi-Domain Operations, the Military Decision Making Process, Command Post Operations, Role-Duties-Functions of Command Post Personnel, and other Intelligence WFF associated topics to meet Commander's training objectives. Prepare units to effectively conduct command and control processes, facilitating the synchronization of all Intelligence WFF requirements and capabilities in accordance with the commander's intent.
  • Attend all planning conferences/ events requiring Intelligence WFF input and coordination and provide recommendations for METL derived training objectives and the overarching training concept.
  • Develop the Intelligence WFF inputs to and support general development of the overarching "road-to-war" scenario to include higher headquarters TACSOPS, PSOPS, and KM SOPS; WARNORDS, OPORDS, and FRAGORDS in accordance with established timelines.
  • Coordinate with Officer Senior Trainer (OST) / Enlisted Senior Trainer (EST) and Simulation Support Teams to ensure accurate replication of the opposing forces, the training audience, and notional echelons above Brigade (or Division) higher and adjacent units specific to the Intelligence WFF.
  • Support the establishment of a tactical battle-rhythm from the Intelligence WFF perspective consisting of key HICOM meetings, boards, and working groups that drive training unit Mission Command C2 processes. HICOM battle rhythm events will include Battlefield Update Briefings; Commander's Update Briefings; Targeting Meetings; Information Collection Synchronization Meetings; Sustainment Boards, Protection Boards, etc.
  • Prepare Intelligence WFF related inputs for and deliver daily Air Tasking Orders (ATO), Joint Space Tasking Orders (JSTO), Daily Information Collection Emphasis, Intelligence Summaries (INTSUMS); Operations Plans and Orders (OPLANS and OPORDS); Warning and Fragmentary Orders (WARNORDS and FRAGORDS).
  • Prepare and issue all Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) Products in analog format, and support development of digital ones via the appropriate Mission Command Information Systems (CPCE, CPOF, DCGS-A, AFATDS, TAIS, AMDWS, JCR, etc.).
  • Prepare Intelligence WFF inputs to and support development of a Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) for non-simulation supported training objectives requiring manual injects to stimulate the Training Unit.
  • Make coordination with, integrate, train, and manage HICOM augmenter's that are provided by the training unit's State JFHQ, an ARNG Division, or a sister unit within the State.
  • Prepare all JELC related products to ensure robust replication, and immersion of the training audience within a Multi-Domain Operational Environment and resulting in an exercise that sets the context for doctrinally precise, realistic, demanding, and high-tempo Unified Land Operations.
  • Role-play notional higher and adjacent units key Intelligence personnel throughout the exercise.
  • Prepare, submit input and participate in informal and formal exercise After Action Reviews.
  • Directly reports to the HST Team Lead. Integrates with the efforts of other senior WFF subject matter experts.
  • At the discretion of HST Team Lead or Direction of MCTSP, serve as special project officer on MCTSP initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must have a background of at least 20 years' experience in the Army (active Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard) and a minimum of 2 years' experience with exercise planning using the JELC process.
  • Must have senior Military Intelligence Army leadership experience with positions in training management, operational combat, and/ or combat training center experience.
  • Served as a Brigade staff principle (Division or Corps staff principle, preferred) within the Intelligence WFF.
  • Must have successfully commanded at the MTOE Battalion (Brigade level command preferred), as a centrally selected Division Staff Principle or equivalent senior position within the Intelligence WFF.
  • Experience in large-scale live and constructive exercises, a doctrinal expert within the Intelligence WFF, and familiar with Army Command and Control Information Systems and IEWTPT
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, and adaptability.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree, subject immaterial. Graduate of a military Senior Service College, preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
