Job Overview:
Assists the Director of Sales in the management, coordination and execution of items related to the marketing and sales operation of the hotel.

Compensation: $75,000-80,000 annually + potential for Quarterly incentives.

*The IDEAL candidate will have at least 1-2 years of Hotel Sales experience, CITY experience, and Marriott brand background preferred*

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Plan, direct, organize and control departmental activities such as telemarketing, outside sales calls, conducting walking tours, entertaining clients, developing and soliciting new leads, presenting and preparing written proposals and contracts.
* Supervise sales staff through account review, correspondence review and coaching toward improvement.
* Gather, organize and disseminate both written and verbal information regarding the specific requirements of client's events to the appropriate departments and individual clients in a prompt, accurate, profitable, pleasant, and professional manner.
* Develop target lists and action plans for account solicitation. Assist in assignment and distribution of leads. Provide guidance in prospecting and qualifying potential leads.
* Participate where appropriate in related trade civic/business related functions as a representative of in the promotion of the property and/or the city.
* Coordinate, review and evaluate the sales department portion of the monthly forecast.
* Assist the Director of Sales in the development of the marketing plan and related presentations.
* In the absence of the Director of Sales, monitor the entire sales operation.
* Assist the Director in special projects.
* Type contracts, menus, letters and reports.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:*

*Strong knowledge of the geographic designated market.
* Excellent working knowledge of the English language both written and oral to complete forms, correspondence and communicate with co-workers and customers.
* Basic mathematical skills that allow for calculation of room blocks, average rates and forecast information.
* Ability to travel throughout designated markets in a timely manner.
* Ability to organize detailed information.
* Analytical ability to decipher data and make sound decisions.

Other Expectations:
* Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
* Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. This includes nights, weekends and/or holidays.
* All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
* Employee is always required to take on the responsibility and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
* Complies with health and safety rules, regulations and procedures to maintain a safe environment.
