Hotel Property Overview: Our property is just a short drive from the world-famous Mall of America. Essential Job Functions:



  • Ensures the properties condition is upheld to high standards of functionality and visibly appealing to guests
  • Manages the rehabilitation, expansion, and special projects for the property
  • Maintains effective energy management and preventative maintenance programs
  • Conducts special training for other operating departments on the safe and effective use of equipment and energy in the hotel
  • Manages all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces and grounds
  • Assigns and verifies completion of all repairs, replacements, and renovation projects to guest areas, offices and team member work areas



Hotel Specific:



  • Union experience is preferred but not a requirement.
  • This role has a $2,500 retention incentive: $1000 on the 6th month, and $1500 to be paid on your first anniversary.
  • The Salary range is $78,000-$84,000.



Physical Demands:



  • Must be able to work in extreme conditions such as, but not limited to, freezers (-10F), kitchens (+110F)
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel/grounds on a timely basis
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and frequently lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift 100 lbs.
  • Subject to hazards such as being in proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high locations, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the skin or respiratory system: fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases or poor ventilation etc.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment



Qualifications:



  • Graduation from high school and from an apprenticeship, advance-training program for operating engineers recognized by the industry trade. Or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
  • Three years' experience performing building maintenance in a hotel or related industry.
  • One year's experience as a head or Assistant Chief Engineer in the same or similar environment.
  • Must have licenses and permits as required by law or company regulations, such as an Electricians License.
  • This is an Exempt Full-Time position that requires the flexibility to workdays, nights, weekends and holidays
