As a successful candidate, you will:

• Directly responsible for coordinating surgery cases and outpatient procedures for the department of surgery and all of the associated divisions.
• Coordinates surgical procedure with OR staff and patient to ensure patients are properly scheduled.
• Initiates and reviews the surgical procedure Scheduling Data Sheet. Ensures all documentation is complete and the correct pre-op tests are ordered in a timely manner.
• Coordinates with New Patient Services to ensure biopsy slides, reports and any other pertinent information is available prior to the patient's surgery date.
• Schedules pre-op appointments. Ensures all documentation is complete and the correct information is communicated and distributed to the patients in a timely manner.
• Coordinates pre-op authorizations with the Utilization Review Department and ensures that all clearances requested by provider are received prior to the procedure date.
• Processes pre-op consultations.

Your qualifications should include:

• High school degree or equivalent. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
• Two years work experience in a medical environment. Two years medical office experience: Preferred
• Medical terminology
