IT Project Management Lead

Hillenbrand is transforming the way we use data to drive business decisions, and we're looking for an IT Data Business Analyst (BA)/Project Manager (PM) to lead the charge. In this role, you'll play a key part in a global data transformation initiative, delivering powerful insights that shape strategy across the organization. As part of our BI Center of Excellence, you'll collaborate with teams worldwide to build impactful dashboards, streamline processes, and turn complex data into actionable outcomes. Your ability to drive change, align stakeholders, and execute high-impact projects will directly influence how Hillenbrand leverages data for smarter, faster decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business data needs and translate them into a comprehensive Business Requirements Document.
  • Gather and document processes, confirming final requirements with business users.
  • Develop and manage project plans, monitor performance, and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Act as a liaison between IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment.
  • Leverage data to drive business insights and actions as a change agent.
  • Create process data flows and logic diagrams in collaboration with team members.
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Develop and execute validation test scripts and operational acceptance testing.
  • Source and implement new data and analytics technologies.
  • Stay updated on advancements in data and analytics to enhance processes.
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to share findings with stakeholders.
  • Document and communicate results to cross-functional teams and management.
  • Allocate resources effectively and maintain cost efficiency throughout projects.
  • Manage competing resources and priorities to ensure project success.
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely project completion.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and perform cost-benefit analyses (buy vs. build, ROI).
  • Model business processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field with an IT focus.
  • Proficient in Power BI and knowledgeable in BI data management, data governance, and data terminology.
  • Certifications such as IIBA, IQBBA, IREB, or PMI are a plus.
  • Commitment to ongoing education through coursework, certifications, or other learning opportunities.

Skills/Experience

  • 10 years in a technology-driven position.
  • 7 years in a business analyst or program manager role, with at least 2 years focused on data and analytics solutions or business intelligence.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and change management skills.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and PMO processes.
  • Proven project management skills with a track record of leading projects to successful completion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Experience in developing business intelligence use cases and deploying BI applications.
  • Understanding of networks, databases, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, AngularJS, and Python.
