Electrophysiology Technician

Responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to cardiac electrophysiology and works closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and other related conditions.

Essential Functions:
-Set up and prepare the equipment and supplies required for various electrophysiology procedures, such as electrophysiological studies (EPS) and cardiac mapping.
-Assist the physician during procedures by operating and troubleshooting specialized equipment, including electrophysiology mapping systems, recording devices, and ablation systems.
-Assist with the implantation and management of cardiac devices, such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices.
-Program and optimize settings for implanted devices based on physician orders and patient-specific requirements.
-Perform routine device checks, assessments, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functioning and patient response.
-Collect and analyze data obtained during electrophysiology procedures, including intracardiac electrograms, activation maps, and other relevant recordings.
-Educate patients and their families on the purpose, risks, and benefits of electrophysiology procedures.

Education
Associate's Degree Radiologic Technology required or Bachelor's Degree Cardiology preferred or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Electrophysiology Technician Experience 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology principles, procedures, and equipment.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting electrophysiology mapping systems, recording devices, and ablation systems.
- Excellent understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and arrhythmias.
- Ability to analyze complex data, interpret intracardiac electrograms, and report findings accurately.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
