Department Overview
Electric Operations ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. The Underground Delivery team is responsible for delivering yearly underground targets safely within budget, scope and target unit cost.This position supports the Underground Delivery team and supports Project Control Analyst Supervisors and Project Control Analysts.

Position Summary
This position will fill two (2) Manager, Project Controls positions:

  1. One position will lead a team of Project Control Analyst Supervisors and Project Control Analysts in the successful execution of underground projects - focusing on accurate forecast management, accruals, scope and schedule management commitments.
  2. One position will lead a team of Project Control Analyst Supervisors and Project Control Analysts in the successful execution of underground projects - focusing on accurate forecast management, accruals, scope and schedule management commitments. This position will also manage a team for reporting and central analytics at the project-level to support execution strategy and operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • This position supports the Underground Delivery team and supports Project Control Supervisors and Project Controls Analysts. The work group consists of ESC employees and contractors and is responsible for managing electric capital construction throughout the service territory.The leaders promote a safety culture and ensure staff adhere to all company and regulatory safety practices and policies.
  • Leads a team of primarily Project Control Analyst Supervisors in the successful execution of underground projects. Managesannual operating budget and validates monthly forecasts for accuracy to ensure the portfolio is aligned with annual and project budget targets. Proactively identifies and resolves project issues to ensure that projects stay on plan to meet overall cost, scope and schedule commitments. Ensures consistency across the organization.
  • Collaborates with technical Project Management teams in other departments or lines of business to effectively manage and improve the overall groups operations and processes.Directs continuous improvement for all processes and procedures utilized for the delivery of project management, while also ensuring continuous compliance with governance standards and procedures.Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching.
  • Develops and delivers recommendations to improve processes, schedules and cost performance of projects.Seeks process improvement opportunities to reduce duplication of effort, improve work quality. Leads development of tools and processes to continuously improve management and financial performance.Collaborates with peers and leaders across Electric Operations, Business Finance and Capital Accounting to promote teamwork, streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Effectively manages both the capital project portfolio for assigned functional area and develops and implements industry-leading project control policies, practices and procedures to ensure high-level quality and transparency in communications.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

1. Minimum: $151,000
2. Midpoint: $204.000
3. Maximum: $257,000

Qualifications
Minimum:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
* Ten plus (10+) years of total related experience in project management experience
* Minimum Five plus (5+) years project management of electric utility projects
* Four plus (4+) years supervisory experience in a technical field
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute
* Regular travel required throughout the assigned region or service territory
Desired:
* Masters Degree in Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
