Position:
Supply Chain Quality Engineer (Job Code 92515)
Job Duties:
- Interface with suppliers for all component quality related issues and drive for quick resolution of technical problems.
- Work with suppliers for reducing Lead Time and cost thru process optimization and value engineering initiatives.
- Lead new supplier qualification projects including the identification and selection of viable candidates.
- Assess supplier capabilities with an emphasis on technology, quality, responsiveness, and cost.
- Document technical, quality, and product performance requirements in formal procurement specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturability and quality issues on the procured products.
- Manage process changes, exceptions, excursions, and corrective/preventive action plans.
- Monitor, analyze, and report supplier performance metrics and drive improvement plans.
- Provide hands-on technical support to Internal Quality Assurance (IQA), and work with IQA and suppliers to streamline the inspection processes
Education Required:
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Experience Required:
2 years of experience as Quality Engineer or related occupation
Special Requirements:
Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in each of the following:
- Collaborating cross-functionally and performing root cause analysis on supplier related quality issues reported on mechanical and electrical components using the following quality tools: FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), 8-Disciplines problem solving, 5Y analysis, fishbone diagram, and fault-tree analysis.
- Developing and implementing supplier quality improvement plans using Lean & Six Sigma methodologies, PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control), and Data analysis to assess areas for improvement.
- Generating statistical reports using descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, design of experiments, correlation analysis, and measurement system analysis.
- Performing supplier quality management system audits using ISO 9001:2015 standard, supplier audit checklists, and special requirements.
- Reviewing and approving supplier process changes and product deviations using change control procedures, deviation management systems, and engineering drawings/procurement specifications.
- Conducting incoming material inspections and tests using calibrated gages, equipment, and fixtures, and generating supporting documentation for process and product validation in support of Product Launch.
- Analyzing supplier capabilities regarding manufacturing and quality processes and assisting a supply chain team in evaluation and qualification using supplier qualification procedures, risk assessment tools, process control plans, and initial process audits.
Position requires 10% domestic travel, fully reimbursed by employer. Some telecommuting permitted (hybrid).
Salary: $112,091 - $166,100 per year
