Hubbell is Currently looking for 2nd shift Quality technician Leave 1

Hours are 4PM to 2:30AM M-T with over time on Friday and Saturday if needed

Location 2911 Industrial Park Dr Lenoir City TN

A Day In The Life

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Tests and inspects all chemicals coming into the plant before allowing chemicals to be transferred into storage tanks.

Read meters, gauges and other instruments and takes/reports inventory levels to assure level in tank is low enough to take in more product.

Tests parts and materials to assure they meet requirements, dimensions, and finish specifications.

Tests material and chemicals for percentages of content.

Drives forklifts to change out drums or move materials/chemicals.

Pulls samples from drums, tank, etc. to test.

Uses computers, gauges, instruments, and other equipment to test or check materials and chemicals.

Tests and measures incoming products to ensure compliance with company specifications prior to acceptance of quality for receiving and payment.

Inspects parts for cracks, appropriate finish, acceptable incorporation of fiberglass, contour, and other physical characteristics.

Measures parts for dimensional accuracy, using measuring tools or templates.

Confers with line leaders and others as needed.

Physically picks up or moves part to complete visual inspection. Will lift part weighing up to about 35 pounds, otherwise will require assistance from co-workers or uses a hoist to move and inspect part.

Places large product on testing platform and uses I-beam pressure plate to correctly place steel beam onto product to test. Conducts structural testing of products.

Uses math skills to adjust chemicals, tests products, and assists with formulas and bills of materials for products, as well as other duties.

Tests other equipment, parts, and products as directed.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Experience handling chemicals and/or previous chemical training.

Experience using problem solving techniques with proven ability to analyze and interpret data.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

Ability to pass forklift test.

Requires intermediate math skills.

Have ability to communicate well with others.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.
