Job Description

Job Summary

The CAD Draftsman/Designer is responsible for the generation of technical information, including part and assembly models, mechanical drawings, bill of materials, and build instructions. This role develops and maintains the PDM Professional Data Management System.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of Engineering drafting and documentation standards while reviewing and ensuring that engineering documentation conforms to the standard.
  • Collaborate with Engineering / CAD Team to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Create product documentation in the SolidWorks PDM Professional system.
  • Maintain an organized file library of Production Drawings and Build Instructions within the SharePoint document management platform.
  • Understand Production processes and effectively articulate these processes on both drawings and build instructions.
  • Maintain and manage an open line of communication with Scheduling, Sales, Production, and Purchasing regarding new and revised mechanical drawings, ECR, and Quote Workflows.
  • Provide design and drafting support to both the Sales and Operations Departments.
  • Generate Part models, Assembly models, and Drawing files using SolidWorks software.
  • Draft conceptual drawings in accordance with customer specifications and advise changes when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Suite is required.
  • Experience with SolidWorks 2024 or newer is highly preferred. PDM experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from department staff and managers, customers, and suppliers.

Pay: $22.12 - $31.60 per hour
