As a teaching museum, we are committed to offering students professional development and mentorship opportunities as well as access to the largest collection of artworks in New Mexico. Through the Museum Assistant Program, UNMAM aims to be a leader in establishing dynamic education and workforce training for the next generation of museum leaders and creative professionals. The Assistant for Academic Engagement, a specialized role within the Museum Assistant Program, contributes to connecting the university community with activities related to UNMAM exhibitions and collections. This individual facilitates and enhances academic engagement by working with museum staff and university faculty, staff, and students on a variety of projects (including but not limited to the Student Advisory Council, communications, programs, tours, and curricular development). This position is for the Spring and Fall semesters, with the possibility of renewal for future semesters. Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant for Academic Engagement bridges UNMAM's activities and the university community. This individual is responsible for communicating with students, staff, and faculty, scheduling and assisting with events, visits, and tours, and developing resources to facilitate engagement with the museum's exhibitions and collections. The ideal candidate would commit to a two-semester (through Fall 2025) term with the possibility of renewal for future semesters. The candidate must be available during the Study Room's standard operating hours: Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm. Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
