Requisition ID req32419 Working Title Neonatal Devt Specialist Position Grade 14 Position Summary The Developmental Care Program, has an exciting opportunity for an on-call Neonatal Developmental Specialist to join our team and work in a collegial atmosphere and an inter-professional environment. We are a multidisciplinary team with an expertise in NICU developmental care and in the sequalae of medical diagnoses as they pertain to developmental outcomes for babies born preterm. Our team helps set the stage for how parents begin their parenting roles that can last a lifetime and we have a specialized focus on the family as the current and future "growers" and "nurturers" of the infants in our unit. Our practices are consistent with current evidence based knowledge. The Neonatal Developmental Specialist will provide comprehensive developmental care services, including needs assessment, treatment planning, and critical developmental therapy services to ill and/or developmentally high-risk newborns and families in a newborn intensive care environment, home environment and/or at our follow up clinic; designs, develops, and manages developmental education and/or therapeutic programs, provides consultation and training to NICU staff. Preferred qualifications include a NM license as an Occupational Therapist or Speech, Language Pathologist, experience working with children under the age of 3 with feeding and nutritional intervention, experience providing consultative services in a hospital (preferably NICU) and home setting, experience and knowledge of the NM FIT early intervention system and bilingual skills (English/Spanish). Must have reliable transportation. This position will require some nights, weekends and holidays. See the Position Description for additional information. Conditions of Employment May be required to submit to annual TB and rubella screening. UNM will provide Hepatitis vaccination, candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer. Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. Discipline-specific licensure/certification is a requirement for positions in this classification. Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. CPR Certified. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in a directly related clinical field; no experience required. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
