JOB SUMMARY: The Kitchen Coordinator coordinates the activities of volunteers to ensure regular food and meal deliveries to residents of the Angel's Watch program. The position acts as the first point of contact for volunteers and meal donors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Coordinate the activities of kitchen volunteers preparing donated meals for the program's residents or meals created in house.


    1. Onboard and prepare volunteers for their role at Angel's Watch meal program.
    2. Document and manage the involvement of volunteers.
    3. Create meals from donated food when complete donated meals are not provided.
    4. Maintain a calendar of volunteer meals for residents.
    5. Create weekly and monthly menus based on donated food.
    6. Engage, and track volunteer involvement by calling, and emailing, with volunteers to promote the meal donation program.


  • Manage the intake and rotation of perishable and non-perishable food including paper items in the kitchen.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain a safe, clean and orderly kitchen environment.
  • Complete all shift logs, incident reports, and relevant reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to obtain a SafeServ Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • One year experience in the restaurant, food preparation, or the food management industry.
  • Driving is required. Must have a valid driver's License and clean driving record.


SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:



  • Ability to supervise and train volunteers and foster a cooperative work environment, and the ability to conduct and assess kitchen inventory
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office Software, web browsing, and navigation of MS Windows platform; or a willingness to be trained on developing computer skills.
