POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Aircraft Maintenance leads the aircraft maintenance team and ensures the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft fleet. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of aircraft maintenance, including scheduling, inspections, repairs, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technicial expertise, and the ability to manage and motivate a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Lead and manage the aircraft maintenance team, providing direction, support and professional development.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, conducting regular performance reviews and providing feedback.
  • Ensures MRO performing maintenance on Company aircraft perform all work in accordance with Company maintenance manuals, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bullitens, Company policies and procedures and applicable FAA regulation.
  • Coordinates directly with NAC MX Control to provide aircraft status and communicate any and all discrepancies with the aircraft or directs MRO representative to communicate status to NAC MX Control in the Representatives absence.
  • Monitor aircraft inspections & repairs ensuring use of FAA approved parts and data.
  • Audit all aircraft work packages and records to ensure all maintenance documentation is properly completed and sent to NAC QC Records department in a timely fashion.
  • Perform incoming parts/materials receiving inspections in accordance with NAC SPM procedures.
  • Monitor maintenance operations at MRO for safe work practices.
  • Make recommendations to NAC Mx Management for quality assurance and safety improvements.
  • Coordinates with other NAC MX departments such as NAC QC, QC Records, Stores and MX Control to ensure timely completion of all MX and Flight Schedules are met.
  • Manages and assigns work schedule and job assignments of domiciled or transient Flight Mechanics or Stores personnel while at the location assigned.
  • Is involved in the recruitment and hiring of any domiciled Technician, Flight Technician (If Required).
  • Oversee the execution of all maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed on time and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, company policies, and aviation regulations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to minimize aircraft downtime and optimize operational efficiency. Assures that assigned work areas, buildings, equipment, and materials which are utilized for aircraft maintenance are in safe, clean, and operative condition.
  • Oversee the procurement of parts, tools, and equipment for aircraft maintenance.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team, ensuring all activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Monitor and assist with quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of maintenance and safety.
  • Investigate and resolve any maintenance-related incidents or issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related issues, providing updates and reports to senior management.
  • Foster strong working relationships with other departments, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Represent the maintenance department in meetings and provide technical expertise as needed.
  • Ability to input into or manipulation of spreadsheets, composing composition and reports, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a position responsible for returning airplanes to service or experience acceptable to the Director of Maintenance.
  • Proven experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role or experience acceptable to the Director of Maintenance.
  • ETOPS and international aviation experience strongly preferred.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and good driving record.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team as well as foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software (TRAX) and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire/analyze information and make well-reasoned decisions.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check and receive TSA clearance to work in secure area.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive, collaborative relationships across departments/operating companies and work cooperatively to solve problems.
  • This position has a high level of interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to give clear written and oral instructions to team members, vendors, or other stakeholders.
  • Ability to write reports, procedures manuals, correspondence, and other related materials.
  • Requires ability to respond effectively verbally and in writing to inquiries from regulators.
  • For Miami Operation- Ability to speak and understand Spanish preferred.


TRAVEL



  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, as needed.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • The employee is regularly required to sit and sometimes stand.
  • The employee will need to see (including close vision), speak, and hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • May be exposed to noise, adverse weather conditions (extreme cold or heat), fumes, wet surfaces, and icy conditions.
  • This position primarily works in the office, but will spend time in the hangar, outdoor airline ramp, etc.
