The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Hero Care Center (HCC) Volunteer Program Senior Program Manager, to support our volunteer program at our three Hero Care Center locations. This position can be located anywhere in the US and will be remote but will need to work 9:00 am - 6:00 pm EST. Travel may also be involved, but less than 5% of the time.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): The HCC Volunteer Program Senior Program Manager Position is to establish and grow a volunteer workforce for the SAF Hero Care Center. The Senior Program Manager will recruit, train, retain volunteers to build workforce capacity for day-to-day operation and also surge events.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Provide support in the development and maintenance of High-Performing Volunteer Program and support the development and execution of innovative plans and strategies that align with organizational and business goals.
  • Ensure the achievement of objectives by implementing and continuously monitoring them to align with the standards and requirements of external government agencies and the Red Conduct routine needs assessments of volunteers to identify opportunities for improvement. Update the volunteer workforce strategy and develop plans to meet operational objectives and needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal partners, staff, volunteers, community members, and external organizations. Implement strategies to strengthen the Red Cross brand and ensure consistent communication and experiences for all volunteers. Serve as a resource to volunteers and operational leadership to maximize involvement and efficiency.
  • Assess the effectiveness of programs and services, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of metrics to management. Monitor outcomes to reinforce organizational accountability.
  • Research and implement new methods to effectively utilize volunteers in support of the operational initiatives. Lead change management efforts and identify process and performance improvements to enhance operational success. Provide strategic input on the implementation and execution of programs as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Volunteer Management experience preferred.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively implement and manage programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, assimilate information quickly, analyze problems and implement solutions appropriately.
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as have excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of staff, volunteers and donors. Ability to work on a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including training, presentation and negotiating skills.

The salary range for this position is $74,520 - $ 79,480.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
