Student Intern - Communications

Summary:

A meaningful educational experience for a college student to gain valuable experience in their field of study; while accomplishing tasks and completing projects in an enriching environment. The Intern will gain networking opportunities that include interactions with CHRISTUS leaders and Associates. The Intern will be provided with a variety of projects to support learning objectives in both internal and external communications.

Responsibilities:



  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self.
  • Provides administrative support for the System Communications leaders and staff, including assisting on writing social media posts, gathering content and helping to coordinate various projects.
  • Supports development of communications materials and projects by driving operational excellence, including process oversight, adherence to deadlines and ensuring proper approvals prior to deployment.
  • Assists in scheduling, organizing and coordinating departmental and organization-wide meetings.
  • Prepares materials and makes arrangements as needed for meetings and conferences.
  • Handles confidential calls and correspondence as necessary for Communications staff.
  • Maintains access to various email, news and social subscriptions and media lists, and monitors responses, directing them to the appropriate party when needed.
  • Assists in the facilitation of Associate activities, promoting a culture of an engaged workplace.
  • Proofreads materials, ensuring accuracy according to established brand and written style guidelines

Requirements:

Experience:


  • At least 2 years of college preparation toward major.

Education:


  • Currently enrolled in a College degree program in one of the following degree program: Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing
  • PC and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work with others.
  • Quick learner with attention to detail, high degree of confidentiality and solid organizational skills.
  • Needs to be resourceful, innovative and persuasive with ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
