Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Clinical Outcomes Specialist - Trauma to join the team. This role will be full-time, dayshift. In-Person, M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - no weekends & no holidays.

Clinical Outcomes Specialist - Trauma Job Responsibilities:



  • Performance improvement as it relates to trauma care
  • Working with the team to identify patterns and trends, and investigating them
  • Participating in case discussions
  • Performs extensive medical record review and concurrent chart data abstraction on all regulatory/registry-required clinical indicators for assigned patient groups. Selects and collects appropriate data from patient charts relevant to the core measures set and disease-specific indicators.
  • Delivers timely and comprehensive outcomes reports to QI committees, clinical and administrative executive leaders.
  • Works concurrently and collaboratively with physicians, clinicians, and other individuals involved in the quality improvement initiatives and core measures to ensure standards of quality are met.
  • Participates in educational programs of staff and physicians to increase performance levels in quality improvement initiatives and core measures process.
  • Utilizes principles of therapeutic communication and change theory to enhance continuous quality improvement and implementation of practice initiatives.
  • Assists clinical staff with professional development and in the identification of needed resources to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Provides directions and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource and mentor.
  • May perform other duties as assigned


Clinical Outcomes Specialist - Trauma Additional Requirements:



  • Work schedule: full-time, dayshift. In-Person, M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - no weekends & no holidays.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing BSN, or graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology
  • Experience: 3 years experience in a clinical setting
  • Certification: Registered Nurse License in the Commonwealth of Virginia upon hire; for non-RNs, must be registered in one of the following: RCIS, RCES, RTRCV, or RTRVI upon hire


Clinical Outcomes Specialist - Trauma Preferred Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing BSN
  • Experience: Nursing experience in a trauma setting; EPIC experience
  • Certification/Licensure: RN license in the State of VA
