The School of Engineering at the University of Missouri - Saint Louis (UMSL) Job Description
The School of Engineering at the University of Missouri - Saint Louis (UMSL), invites applications and nominations for three Professor and Program Coordinators, one for each of its three academic programs: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor is expected with the granting of tenure based on an evaluation of the applicant's record. Appointment at the rank of Professor with tenure will be considered for exceptional applicants. UMSL is seeking program coordinators who are visionary and collaborative, student-focused, and research leaders. Primary responsibilities of each coordinator include student recruitment and retention; student success initiatives; faculty assignments and workload; faculty evaluation; and participation in the reappointment, promotion and tenure; curriculum development; program assessment and accreditation; development of research programs; faculty professional development; and coordination and oversight of classroom and laboratory usage. Each coordinator will report to the Founding Director and will play a role on all future hires within their academic unit. Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in the specific disciplines of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, a record of scholarship and securing external funding from various agencies including industries, communication skills, and commitment to teaching excellence, experiential learning, and student success.
