University Advising Center Job Description
The Recruitment Advising Specialist plays a vital role within the University Advising Center (UAC) and the School of Engineering, a hub for academic guidance and student support serving first-time freshmen, sophomores, and first-semester transfer students. The UAC is dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and community while helping students achieve academic success and persistence toward graduation. This dual-function role combines strategic student recruitment and academic advising tailored to the needs of engineering students from their initial engagement with the university through their early academic progression. Nature of Work: This role requires an understanding of how recruitment and advising integrate to accomplish team and institutional objectives. It involves problem-solving for atypical or infrequent situations, maintaining the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of outcomes, and regularly interacting with internal and external stakeholders to exchange detailed information. Performs a variety of assignments and analyses that impact the Student Support function.

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Education, Counseling, Business, or a related field. Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Engineering or a related field. Anticipated Hiring Range
