Job Summary:

The Syndicated Finance Associate will report to the SVP, Director of Syndicated Finance. The role will be responsible for assisting the existing members of the team in coordinating and managing the origination, syndication, and servicing of multi-bank credits.

Responsibilities and Duties:

This professional will help to structure and execute on syndicated opportunities in a variety of industries. The position will be responsible for building strategic bank relationships, structuring market-clearing transactions, executing on transaction timelines, and collaborating with internal teams to provide exceptional client service. He or she will provide transactional support in syndicating loan transactions while working alongside senior members of the Syndicated Finance team and the relationship management teams. The individual will actively provide input and analysis related to structuring and pricing discussions.



  • This person will assist in managing inter-bank relationships, including the facilitation of lender due diligence, documentation review, and post-closing funding/amendment processes.
  • Create deal memos and pitch books for lead-bank transactions.
  • Manage transaction sites and information flow to participant banks.
  • Maintain non-deal-flow related activity including pipeline management, revenue tracking, comparative transaction databases, and others as needed.
  • Review new opportunities with oversight from the Syndicated Finance Director and VP's. Actively participate in syndication discussions during opportunity assessment discussions.
  • Provide input and analysis relating to the structuring of new opportunities to ensure transactions clear market.
  • Maintain communications and relationships with other banks to facilitate syndication capabilities.
  • Review engagement papers for new transactions.
  • Work alongside senior members of the Syndicated Finance team to manage the overall syndication process for new and existing syndicated loan transactions.
  • Participate in and eventually lead outgoing calls to potential lenders on new syndicated transactions.
  • Lead creation and review of forward projection models and financial analysis as needed.



Job Skills and Qualifications:



  • Experience with in arranging, syndicating, and participating multi-bank credits for corporate and commercial real estate lending is a positive. Strong written and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of bank underwriting and credit considerations. Must be highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and have strong execution and strategic thinking skills.
  • At least two years of experience in commercial or corporate banking role is preferred.
  • Ability to handle complexity and intentional about understanding and solving issues.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task in an environment of change.
  • Ability to interact with members of senior management, executives, and other staff members in a positive and direct manner.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to expand presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence others and win support on critical issues.
  • Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality
  • Good knowledge of bank operations and products.
  • Experience in risk assessment across varying types of transactions, borrowers, and structures.


Education/Certifications:



  • Minimum of 4-year college degree with emphasis in finance/business/accounting/economics or hard sciences.
  • Prior completion of Formal Bank Credit Training Program.
