Job Summary |
Auburn Advancement is excited to begin the search for a Manager of Advancement Human Resources to join our operations and strategy team! Reporting to the Senior Manager of Advancement Human Resources, you will partner and lead the delivery of HR support for the Advancement unit, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and embedding the core values of collaboration, innovation, purpose, and production into every HR process. You will ensure that all employees are equipped to thrive in a dynamic environment and serve as a key partner to the Senior HR Manager of Advancement in implementing HR strategies that support the Advancement mission.
What You'll Do:
Ensure Compliance & Purpose:
- Partner with the Senior Manager Human Resources to assist with oversight of human resource functions, including policy and program administration, compliance, and processes.
- Work with AU's central human resources to ensure compliance with university, federal, and state regulations, providing consistent application throughout the department
Innovate & Manage Performance:
- Direct supervisors and managers in the performance management process, helping them to effectively use tools and skills designed to improve performance.
- Assist with creating and administering HR-related training and analyze HR data to support the development of innovative strategies.
Collaborate & Support Employee Relations:
- Advise supervisors and managers on employee relations issues, providing coaching and guidance on performance management, corrective counseling, and performance improvement plans.
- Build strong relationships across Advancement units and with AU's central human resources, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Essential Functions |
Your Responsibilities as a Manager of Advancement Human Resources:
Purpose
- Partner with the Senior Manager Human Resources to oversee HR functions for the Office of Advancement, including policy and program administration, compliance, and processes.
- Serve as the designated liaison with AU's central human resources, participating in administrative staff meetings and overseeing onboarding and termination processes, as well as administering exit interviews.
- Assist with the development of new or modified position descriptions and provide recommendations on staffing.
- Ensure that HR policies and practices align with the mission and strategic objectives of Auburn University Advancement.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with Auburn University's central human resources to ensure consistency and compliance with university policies, procedures, and federal and state regulations.
- Advise Advancement supervisors and managers on employee relations issues, providing coaching and guidance on performance management, corrective counseling, and performance improvement plans.
- Foster a collaborative environment by promoting effective communication and teamwork among employees and departments.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Partner with department heads to identify and address workforce needs and challenges.
Innovation
- Direct supervisors and managers in the performance management process and assist with creating and administering HR-related training.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions to address HR challenges.
- Implement and manage HR technology systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay current with HR best practices and trends to continuously improve HR functions.
Production
- Oversee communication and administration of payroll and records management within the area of responsibility.
- Manage HR operations, including employee records, Advancement HR databases, and reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of HR-related administrative tasks.
- Monitor and evaluate HR metrics to track the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's Degree: Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field
- 5 years experience: At least 3 years direct responsibility in Employee Relations plus 2 years experience in 2 or more of the following HR specialty areas: recruiting/staffing, compensation, performance management, training and development, benefits.
