SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Workover Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a specific area of business. Supervise consultants, maintain equipment and processes, and ensure adherence to organization guidelines. They are also responsible for administrative tasks such as scheduling, proper invoice coding, updating well records through programs like Wellview and Scout, and solving logistical or procedural issues. Workover Foreman includes consulting with engineering and project management teams to ensure that the procedures and designs are accurate before work commences. The Workover Foreman is expected to know the areas they supervise, but understand duties are not limited to just the above responsibilities. Lastly, the Workover Foreman is expected to function as an arm of the safety department, ensuring all consultants are supervised and following company safety standards and guidelines.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under supervision, responsibilities will include but not limited to the following essential functions:

  • Safety first mentality with the ability to coach between On-Site Supervisors (OSS), vendors, or company personnel.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Vital Standards and expectations by OSS and rig teams.
  • Zero tolerance for gross negligence to a safe work environment.
  • Positive and growth mindset to enhance operations within all facets.
  • Provide oversight for all aspects of workover operations in area/region.
  • Coordinate operations and procedures with all parties involved.
  • Assist with logistics and administrative duties of each operation in assigned area/region.
  • Vendor and contractor relations - Onboarding/Offboarding. Coordinate workover RFQ process with SCM and immediate manager.
  • Manage costs and study the economics on all wells being worked over. Code, approve, and dispute invoices as needed, in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate how Well-Work data is being input into our system and correct entries, if needed.
  • Supervise well work when OSS is out - Vacation relief.
  • Assist with rig schedule and SOPs. Collaborate with SCM on material transfers. Train and mentor new consultants when needed.
  • Be an EH&S leader for all aspect of workover operations. Coordinate rig inspections, safety walk-throughs, and thoroughly cover JSA's and TGSMs, when applicable.
  • Communicate daily activities with immediate manager, productions engineers, OSS, and vendors.
  • Explore avenues to increase efficiency, decrease downtime, and bring order, uniformity, and cost savings to the department as a whole.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 8 years oilfield experience including supervisory experience. (A bachelor's degree in a technical field may be counted towards some of the experience required.)
    • Detailed knowledge of managing the facilities construction operations for a multi-rig drilling program and/or experience in rig oversight.
    • Effective project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
    • Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all level of employees in the organization.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of economic evaluations and indicators and their effect on the area of responsibility.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Work is normally performed outdoors where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common. Noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations, and trucks and like equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured propane, water, electricity, and waste lines and under all weather conditions.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require frequent pushing, pulling, or carrying 50 to 75 pound objects such as tool and equipment for work operations. Work involves standing and walking most of the time, but will also involve sitting and driving for extended periods sometimes over rough terrain.
