Overview
R&P is looking for a motivated Journeyman Systems Engineer, with DoD Systems Engineering, Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), knowledge, skills and abilities who wants to join our team supporting the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Program Office in Washington, D.C. The CPS Program is rapidly developing and fielding hypersonic weapons capability for the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need a Systems Engineer level III or IV ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct, on-site, and remote support to the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Program Office, Director of Systems Engineering and Integration in support of achieving CPS Program mission, goals, and objectives.
- Understand and comply with stringent Security procedures, protocols, and safeguards. You must hold and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- Provide Systems Engineering support, with emphasis on the left side of the "V" working CONOPS, Requirements, Architectures, and Requirements Documentation including the Capability Development Document (CDD).
- Participate in programmatic and technical meetings to plan, prepare, integrate, and execute CPS Weapon Systems design, development, integration, test, and lifecycle support.
- Support, advise, and assist the CPS Program Systems Engineering and Integration Branch performing systems engineering tasks in a high quality, timely, and well-integrated manner.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the CPS Program mission, goals, objectives, technical baselines, detailed design, and interface requirements.
- Develop technical reports, documentation, artifacts, and presentations for technical reviews, acquisition milestones, and executive level meetings and events.
- Collaborate, coordinate, and represent the CPS Program Office, when required, with external CPS stakeholders.
- Support the planning, execution and documentation of design studies and evaluations.
- Review, comment, and provide technical advice to the CPS program office on technical documentation submissions from prime contractors and developers.
- Provide engineering and technical support and advisement regarding problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for cost, schedule, and performance.
- Assist in shaping and executing the CPS Program's transformation into Digital Engineering (DE).
- Drive workforce adoption and improve workforce knowledge in MBSE.
- Collaborate with IT Network authorities and CIOs to enable the required digital engineering environments and tools.
- Assist in leading a national team of government warfare centers, labs, industry and FFRDCs in creating the digital threads and Authoritative Source of Truth (ASOT) using common standards and guidelines for systems engineering practices, models, and simulations.
- Assist with MBSE Use Case, user needs and requirements development using SysML tools.
- Assist in updating and refining systems engineering technical management processes instructions and guidelines in support of MBSE.
- Assist in developing standards, guidelines, processes and "view points" to conduct Digital Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and design reviews using tools such as Confluence, ACE/Windchill, and Cameo.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on significant issues and actions.
- Periodic travel to various locations in support of CPS requirements may be required (less than 10%).
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in an Engineering Field is required.
- Eight (8) years of professional experience within Government or Industry as a Systems Engineer is required.
- Working knowledge of DoD Systems Engineering and the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) is required.
- Masters Degree in Systems Engineering is preferred.
- INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) is preferred.
- Working knowledge of the INCOSE Model-Based Capability Matrix (MBCM) and required capabilities is preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Must have some knowledge, skills and ability with SysML MBSE tools and other Digital Engineering tools such as Eclipse, GIT, Java, MATLAB, Simulink, ModelCenter, No Magic, Notepad++, Python, DOORS, GitLab, JIRA, Cameo, ACE/Windchill, Teamwork Cloud, Confluence, etc...
- DoD SECRET security clearance is required.
