Business Operations Analyst II


Job Summary

The Business Operations Analyst is responsible for analyzing, developing, designing, and upholding business initiatives to ensure on-going status of vital business requirements and production systems of the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other customer regulations and organization requirements. This position ensures CMS and other customer regulations are implemented timely and accurately, performs quality assurance reviews related to system maintenance, provides support on special projects, and assists with training new staff.


Essential Functions
Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Manages customer program changes by utilizing project management concepts, including analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and post-implementation activities.
  • May provide estimates or participate in estimation for requirements gathering, preparing business requirements documents, testing procedures, and other project tasks.
  • Serves as a primary internal resource for the department, effectively sharing specialized system and application knowledge with the organization.
  • Ensures all issues are resolved and stays current on customer regulations and production systems.
  • Creates and provides training for operational teams on program changes, process enhancements, guidance on process documents and system applications as required.
  • Analyzes, coordinates, promotes, and implements initiatives to enhance business operations, focusing on improving customer experience and driving innovation and efficiency.
  • May conduct quality assurance (QA) reviews for system maintenance, offering constructive feedback to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitates and engages in collaborative workgroups involving internal teams, external contractors, vendors, and CMS as required.
  • Provides mentoring and training to team staff as needed, addressing workload concerns and addressing inquiries.
  • May be required to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the SDLC process and propose improvements to enhance processes.
  • Implements innovative solutions to streamline operations, reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve quality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by HR (unless regulated by contract or program standards)
  • 2 years' related work experience
  • Requirements gathering and business process
  • Obtain and maintain knowledge of Medicare systems
  • Understanding of systems development life cycle
  • General testing processes and methodologies
  • Strong written and oral communication skills


Preferred Qualifications
Above requirements and the following:

  • Healthcare and/or Medicare experience
  • Demonstrated and maintained detailed working knowledge of CMS and Medicare regulations
  • Ability to manage and communicate with various stakeholders
  • Maintain a productive and conducive working environment
  • Ability to manage and communicate complex issues with various stakeholders
  • In-depth problem solving and analytical skills

  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone use

Below is the salary range for potential new hires.

Salary Range: $52,120.20 - $85,724.33

Other Compensation: Incentive Plan
