Kratos has an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Engineer. The position will support dynamic, agile projects implementing a SecDevOps approach across all phases of the software development lifecycle, to include design, development, test, and operational support / user feedback. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as within a team setting on the design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions.

• The candidate must be self-motivated, be a self-learner, and able to work well within a dynamic schedule.
• Candidate must show ability to effectively communicate with various team members, customers, as well as communicate with vendor support.
• Candidate must be able to leverage modern industry standard technologies in the engineered solutions and be able to provide status of design efforts.
• This candidate may be expected to support more than one project at a time, bringing their knowledge and experience to help not only their primary project but be able to support other projects address critical issues and challenges.
• This position is available in Colorado Springs, CO, and the candidate needs to be willing to travel approximately 10%.

The successful candidate must have industry software development experience and proficiency in the following:

• Java and C/C++ programming on Linux platforms
• Java/C++ Full Stack, with backend and or frontend implementations
• Batch File, Python Scripting
• Solid understanding of relational database applications and creation of expressions
• Batchelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to learn, take ownership, and deliver high-quality results in an unstructured environment
• Experience using Atlassian tools and working in an Agile software development environment
• Experience in scoping effort to accomplish a task
• Ability to effectively working in a team (IPT) environment
• Applicant selected must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued security clearance up to a TS/SCI level.i

• Network, Multi-threaded, client-server programming
• Experience addressing software race conditions
• Driver development
• Experience in Sec/Dev/Ops design and implementation
• Docker/Container & Kubernetes design and implementation knowledge and experience on premise and cloud
• Ability to design software solutions to complex engineering problems
• Ability to lead teams in software development, and mentor/coach newer software engineers
• Ability and experience in defining and developing requirements with customers, defining/architecting a solution to satisfy them, and developing the test methodology to verify them
• CI/CD Pipeline Experience
• Experience in GUI (frontend), can be in Javascript, PHP or other
• Experience in C#
• Database experience, SQL, MSSQL,
• Experience in Network (multi-servers) and WANIF applications and implementation
• Windows OS

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $130,000-$160,000
