Job Overview
The Hubbell Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell. The Engineering Summer intern will work in the Killark lab. The primary responsibility for this position will be to design, procure, and implement safety improvements for fixed test equipment. Work with the lab manager and engineering department to review test equipment and identify opportunities for safety improvements. Once the best opportunity is identified design a safety system, work with purchasing to procure the equipment, and then work with maintenance to install the equipment. In addition to working on safety systems there will be the opportunity to learn about testing for third party certification and assist in the running of testing. There will also be opportunities to learn about third party standards and computer aided drafting (CAD). Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. Problem Solving Skills Ability to work with technical standard. Microsoft Office CAD, Inventor preferred, but any experience would be helpful.
