2nd Shift - Press/ Mixer - Chatsworth, CA

Hubbell is seeking to add 2 Press Machine Operators/ Mixers to our 2nd Shift Press Department in our Chatsworth, CA facility. Press Operators/Mixers will manufacture thermoset compression molded parts in various sizes using hydraulic presses. Additionally, this position will also mix and compound batches of bulk molding compound material, which are used to create compression molded parts of different sizes. Base pay will begin at $20.50 per hour plus receive a $0.50 premium for this position. Those that work in the 2nd shift will also be eligible for a 10% shift premium for all hours worked in the 2nd shift.In addition, as a newly hired employee with the company, you will be eligible to receive a $1000 retention bonus after the 90th day with Hubbell. Health care benefits start on the first of the month following your hire date.

• Familiar with machinery and control panels
• Able to read JSA and calculate materials ensuring material quality and accuracy
• Comfortable in a fast paced environment
• Pre-check condition of Machinery, light curtains, power tools, PPE, and lift table are all operable.
• Learn equipment safety emergency shut down procedures in event of spills, leaks, or other issue related issue.
• Use basic hand held tools, including powered tools
• Read blueprints to verify correct information for processing.
• Properly weigh and handle material per requirements.
• Operate Press control panel
• Operate scissor lift table to safely off load and demold finished goods while following standard procedures set.
• Pre-check ensuring condition of Press Machine, light curtains, power tools, PPE, and lift table are all operable.
• Foster 6s and sustain practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in a fast paced environment with repetitive motion, clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull with no difficulties, be on feet during 100 % of the work shift, and clearly communicate issues.

Equivalent Education/Experience

• Heavy manufacturing and construction experience preferred
• High school diploma preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Ability

• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a group environment, and ask for help when needed.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Ability to work with tools which may include hammers, drills, sanders, screwdrivers, scissors, etc.
