Basic Function:

The Financial Analyst is part of the Business Control team in order to support guidance on business decisions in order to achieve strategic company objectives and maintain or improve profitability. They will communicate cross-functionally throughout the organization, offer analytics, and suggest solutions as necessary. This role is both a liaison for the finance team and operations as well as a problem solver. Overall, they will support the Business Controller with analyzing trends and manufacturing variances, as well as support in making recommendations for improvements and optimization.

Nature & Scope:

Within the limits of the Division and Corporate Policy and of authority delegated by the company Business Controller, the Financial Analyst is responsible for providing and analyzing quality financial and management data to the Management team. This position actively works with the operational team to identify and realize any business opportunities.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:




  • Participate in month end close activities - support reporting, as well as review and analyze results based on the business requirements
  • Work closely with the accounting team in Shared Service Center in Brno to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Provide analysis on Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Headcount and any other items as needed. Highlight any issues and or foreseen red flags.
  • Actively participate in Research and Development projects and Operational Investments by working closely with the project leaders on the budget and return on investment
  • Provide analysis and supporting documentation to production overheads
  • Perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements and optimization
  • Work with different functions to collect information for variance analysis
  • Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports
  • Provide timely and accurate financial and non-financial information on efficiency, productivity and profitability of operations in order to support decision making by management
  • Prepare reports on efficiency performanceand communicate such information to those who need it
  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
  • Assist management in the review of operational budgets and forecasts as required
  • Work closely with the team on identifying cost reduction initiatives
  • Support the short term and long-term business plan on Overheads & Capex
  • Provide ongoing and ad-hoc reports and automated tools to support management and decision making
  • Identify problems and recommend appropriate actionto management
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements
  • Identify potential for improvement of business control and subsequently update, implement and maintain procedures
  • Assist Business Controller in the preparation of the labor and overhead rates, ensuring they are accurately reflected in the production environment
  • Responsible for Fixed Asset count annually and advise to the management of the variance. Ensure the quality of the Fixed Assets register is maintained.
  • Participate in various Finance and Operational Improvement Projects to improve profitability
  • Perform "harvesting" and follow up on completed Projects
  • Support Business Controller in the following areas as and when required: tax compliance, management of inventory, financial systems, internal and external audits



Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or CPA strongly preferred. If without degree, comparable work experience in compatible industry finance may be considered.
  • Ideal candidate will have ten years of relevant accounting and financial analysis experience. Length and type of experience should be appropriate to ensure success in the position.
  • Experience with working within the local statutory and tax requirements



Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Experience in accounting, and/or finance, or in a manufacturing operation
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to identify trends, discrepancies, or changes in financial results and metrics
  • Skilled in the use of Excel and other Office 365 products
  • Experience explaining complicated accounting, quantitative and qualitative problems
  • Maintain an open mind and confidence when working with co-workers to learn new approaches
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Good business relationship builder; a team player
  • Willingness to learn and have an interest in operations, business, and company dynamic
